Meath minors set for Leinster semi-final
Meath recorded a 0-16 to 0-2 victory over Carlow in the third round of the Leinster MFL at Pairc Tailteann tonight and will now meet Longford in the semi-final at a Longford venue on Saturday.
Meath lost midfielder Gavin McGowan with a knee injury in the first minute, but his replacement David McLoughlin made a big impact as he sent over five points from play in the opening half.
Meath were ahead by 0-11 to 0-1 at the interval with two points apiece from Daire Rowe (frees) and Shane Walsh with Shane Cumiskey and Jordan McLoughlin completing the tally.
Meath remained in the ascendancy after the resumption and added points through Stephen Duffy (two), Cumiskey, Eamonn McDonnell and Thomas O'Reilly.
