Geraghty lands feature on opening day

Meath Sportsperson of the year winner Barry Geraghty, who was crowned at the Meath Chronicle / Cusack Hotel Group annual awards last January, won the big race on the opening day of the Cheltenham Festival with the Jessica Harington-trained Jezki yesterday.

The Drumree man and Jezki (9/1) got the better of AP McCoy and My Tent Or Yours 

My Tent Or Yours, like Jezki, was carrying the colours of owner JP McManus and the duo finished ahead of third-placed The New One with Hurricane Fly in fourth.

'He's a great little horse. He had good form and he didn't have a lot to find with the best of them. I don't think his price reflected his chance,' commented Geraghty.
