Can Meath finish with a win in Drogheda next Sunday?

Following the superb victory by Meath in Navan by 1-14 to 1-11 against Down, Mick O’Dowd’s men will go into next Sunday’s final round against Louth safe from the threat of relegation after today’s results are taken into account.

There is also a slim chance that Meath could actually make the decider, but it would require a series of favourable results from other venues and a comprehensive Meath victory in Drogheda.

On Saturday night a strong finish saw Meath win an exciting clash at Pairc Tailteann where the teams were level on five occasions as the hosts trailed by o-6 to 0-7 at the break.

Graham Reilly found the net for Meath in the second-half in front of a crowd that was close to 4,000 despite a live telecast from Setanta and the hosts prevailed although they lost Michael Newman, Sean Curran and Eoghan Harrington due to injuries.
