Shock at sudden passing of popular Trim man Thomas Farrelly
There has been widespread shock and sadness in the Trim and wider Meath community at news of the sudden passing of Thomas Farrelly, Clonbun, Trim.
Mr Farrelly (40) was very well-known around Trim and Athboy through his involvement with Athboy Macra and the annual Blue Jean Country Queen Festival. He was also a member of Leinster River Rescue Service.
It is understood that Mr Farrelly was cycling with Trim Cycling Group outside Westport yesterday when he collapsed. Frantic efforts to save his life were sadly unsuccessful.
Trim Cycling Group was undertaking a cycle from Mizen Head to Malin Head and Mr Farrelly was among those who joined the group in Galway on Wednesday for the next stage of the cycle.
