Two for Colin Keane at Bellewstown.

Keane and Lyons on the double

Young Trim jockey Colin Keane was in double form at bellewstown today where there was definitely a Meath flavour in the winners' enclosure in front of a large crowd for the second day of the three-day festival.

Keane, who is now stable jockey for Kiltale handler Ger Lyons, rode out his claim this week, and is now on 27 winners for the season and in sixth place for the flat title.

Keane won the opener at Bellewstown with Ice Echo for trainer Lyons. Ice Echo is owned by Mullingar man Damien Nolan.

Keane and Lyons completed a double when the aptly-named Body Beautiful (no one was admitting to choosing the name) won a handicap.

Gordon Elliott was on the mark also when Moonmeister sprang a 33/1 shock in a handicap while Johnny Murtagh also had his first winner as a trainer at Bellewstown when he won a five-furlong maiden with Arriana.

Moynalty man declan McDonogh was also on the mark when Ucanchoose won a five-furlong handicap.

The final day at Bellewstown tomorrow will feature an all-national hunt card with a Pick Six carryover of almost €34,000.
