Pressure the key for Killyon
Pressure is on Killyon now to deliver and that's exactly what they did today in Trim with a nail-biting kind of performance against Blackhall Gaels that yielded a 1-17 to 0-14 victory.
Manager Declan Mullen has a simple tactic for his players - and it works (see video clip).
It wasn't easy, Killyon were ahead by 1-9 to 0-3 at the interval and at that stage they were looking good for an easy win.
Then they went to sleep and needed 25 second-half minutes to wake up as Blackhall hurled them off the pitch and closed the gap to two points (0-13 to 1-12).
James Battersby's men just failed to overhaul their opponents a late flourish, helped by some positional changes, got Killyon over the line.
Next up for Killyon on weekend of 8th August is a tussle with Kiltale, and that will be followed by a fifth round tie with KIlmessan. The pressure will be really on then.
In the IHC at Trim today, Wolfe Tones recorded an impressive 1-17 to 0-6 victory over gaeil Colmcille.
