All Star for An All Star!
Former legendary Meath footballer and Meath's first All Star in 1971 Pat Reynolds enjoyed a visit to the winners' enclosure at Naas on Wednesday evening when Red All Star won a maiden contest for jockey Conor Hoban.
The Pat Martin-trained gelding was in front from the start in the six-furlong contest and kept on strongly in the closing stages to win by a length.
The winner was well-backed into 9/4 from 4/1and was running over a shorter distance after going close over seven furlongs.
“I think when he gets a bit of an ease he’ll be a nice horse. He’ll go to Sligo for a six-and-a-half furlong handicap the week after Galway,' stated the trainer.
Pat Reynolds also bred Red All Star.
