Bective will tackle St Brigid’s in the final of the Tailteann Cup at Pairc Tailteann on Friday night at 8.15 after the A FL Div 3 final and they will be confident of victory as they have already recorded a 3-9 to 0-10 win in the JFC this year against the Ballinacree side last April.
However, Bective have endured a poor JFC campaign while St Brigid’s have enjoyed a more positive campaign and have qualified for the quarter-finals where they will tackle Cortown at Kilskyre on Sunday week.
Bective lost the Tailteann Cup final two years ago to Ratoath and had to win last week against Boardsmill to avoid relegation play-offs.
All that suggests that St Brigid’s will be expected to win at Pairc Tailteann on Friday night, but those expectations will be blown away by a Bective side that will want to finsih a disappointing year with a trophy.
And if they get a penalty, well, they have a man capable of scoring from the spot, like he did the last time out against St Brigid's.
