As for the game, both teams contributed to an e xciting tussle and Bective were ahead by 0-9 to 1-3 at the interval. Killian Kiernan scored the St Brigid's goal.
There was lots of goalmouth action at each end in the second-half but it was Bective who found the net for a crucial score with nine minutes remaining when Cathal McConnell applied the finishing touch after Brian Cantwell's effort was blocked.
Marty Mulhall, who played for Kilmessan in the SHC last night, scored three points for Bective who had a disappointing run in the JFC.
'We have a lot of young players and this will give them a boost,' stated Bective manager Davy Cahill.
There was also a little extra enjoyment for Bective's Brian Hogge as he became a father last night - a memorable week all round.
