Red alert in junior c decider as teams finish level
There was plenty of drams in the Junior C FC final at Pairc Tailteann tonight where St Patrick's and Blackhall Gaels played out a 0-8 apiece draw with the Stamullen men snatching a reprieve from a late equalising Conor Tully point.
The sides were level at half-time also at 0-4 each, but the real talking was about the flurry of second-half red cards.
First into the departure zone was Peter Sullivan 17 minutes into the second-half - only six minutes after he was introduced as a substitute.
However, St Pat's battled gamely with 14 men to earn a draw and the lost Cormac Sullivan to a red card as Blackhall's Niall Mangan also departed (same incident) following an off-the-ball incident that was flagged by the linesman.
The question now is whether Cormac Sullivan will be eligible to take his place on the sideline as joint-manager of the club's senior team when they tackle Donaghmore/Ashbourne back in Pairc Tailteann tomorrow evening at 5.30?
A date for the replay has yet to be fixed, but it could be scheduled next Friday night at the same venue.
