Keegan cup champions out ratoath survive in ifc
Defending Keegan Cup champions Summerhill relinquished their grip on the trophy tonight at Páirc Tailteann when they were edged out in the quarter-final by Wolfe Tones.
The teams were level 0-5 each at the break, but Tones hit two second-half goals from Shane Glynn and Ciaran McLoughlin and sealed Summerhill's fate.
Cian Ward scored six points and was also denied a goal in the opening half when Tony McDonnell made some good saves.
Wolfe Tones will play Skryne or Navan O'Mahonys in the semi-final - they play tomorrow in Pairc Tailteann.
The curtainraiser at Pairc Tailteann was the IFC quarter-final between Syddan and Ratoath and this went to extra-time with Ratoath winning by 3-19 to 3-14 after it finished level Syddan 1-12, Ratoath 2-9.
However, Syddan were well in control at half-time with 0-7 to 0-2 lead, but Ratoath subs Gavin McGowan and Frank Coyne transformed the second-half.
In the other quarter-final Ballinabrackey defeated Ballivor and will now play Ratoath next Saturday. The other quarter-final will be played tomorrow.
In the SFC in Trim Na Fianna defeated Simonstown Gaels by 1-15 to 2-9 and will play Donaghmore/Ashbourne in the semi-final.
Oldcastle will be playing in the IFC next yar after they lost the relegation play-off to Rathkenny (0-5 to 0-12).
St Patrick's claimed the Junior C title with a replay win over Blackhall gaels.
