Ballinabrackey joy as they reach ifc final
There was joy unconfined for Ballinabrackey as they defeated Ratoath 1-11 to 1-10 in the IFC semi-final at Trim this evening.
Aidan Coffey's side didn't make the best of starts as they conceded a Joey Wallace goal after just 10 minutes.
However they came back strongly and led 1-7 to 1-4 at the interval thanks partly to a well-taken goal from Trevor Bannon.
With 25 minutes played Ballinabrackey were reduced to 14 men when Nicky Judge picked up a second yellow.
Ratoath also finished the game a man short when Bobby O'Brien was sent off when there was just five minutes remaining in the game.
By that stage Ratoath were just the point behind and despite their best efforts they couldn't manage to get the score that would have forced extra-time.
Instead Ballinabrackey held on for a famous victory for the club.
