Johnstown prove too strong for athboy in mdl showdown

Johnstown showed the necessary steel to chalk up a deserved 2-0 victory over Athboy Celtic in the MDL Div 2 encounter today. 

The Athboy Celtic side came to the MDL following a number of high-scoring victories but their scoring touch deserted for this game. 

Both Johnstown goals were netted in the second-half wtih Shane Conroy getting the first just after the break.  

Late on Lee Fahy sealed the game when he scored after he was set up by Arnold Ruksenas. 

Athboy also had their centre-back Brendan Milligan sent off for a tackle in the second-half that ensured Johnstown won a penalty. 

However, Kacper Zeberek's spot-kick was superbly saved by Athboy goalkeeper Paul Sheridan.
