Navan survive late surge from rebels
It was all hands to the pump as far as Navan were concerned when they defeated Midleton at Balreask Old in the AIl Div 2B this afternoon.
The home side survived a late, sustained siege from Midleton to chalk up a 26-19 victory.
This was just what the doctor ordered as far as Navan were concerned after the defeat to Armagh the previous week.
Tries from Brian McKeever, Alan Kingsley, Simon Hogan and Riaan Van Der Vyver ensured Navan also picked up a bonus point.
Kingsley was also unerring from placed kicks as he also tagged on three conversions.
Midleton had a good first-half when they made the most of a number of unforced errors by Navan.
At the break the team from the Rebel County led 19-12 however Navan came back strongly to chalk up their win their second from three outings.
However, they had to withstand a lot of pressure from the visitors who somehow failed to take a number of good opportunities to score a try.
