Trim stalwart Harry Connor has his house decked out in the right colours for Sunday's big game.

Trim and kiltale set for shc final

Trim will be bidding to claim the SHC Jubilee Cup for the first time since 2001 when they tackle Kiltale in the decider at Páirc Táilteann on Sunday, 3.30, with Blackhall Gaels clubman Fergus Smith in charge of what is expected to be an exciting decider.

Both teams will take an unbeaten record into the big final of the year on the club hurling calendar and the winner will go on to represent the Royal County in the Leinster IHC.

Trim’s last appearance in the decider was 10 years ago when they lost to Kilmessan (2-6 to 1-12) while they last won the title in 2001 when they required a replay to get the better of Dunderry by 1-13 to 0-8.

“Kiltale have won two titles in the last five years, they will be the form team and will be expected to win, but I’m not going to play down our chances, we are there on merit next Sunday and I’m delighted with the way we have progressed this year,” Trim manager told the Meath Chronicle.

Kiltale will be expected to mainatin the winning form that has taken them to Sunday's final with some impressive performances.

“I took the manager’s bib this year  with Trevor (Cummins) and Quentin (Ashe) as selectors, we were all fairly clear about the objective for 2014 and once we focused on the task it was fairly straightforward for the players and we just took it one game at a time,” Kiltale manager Brian Gilsenan commented.
