New secondary school approved for nobber
A new state-of-the-art school has been approved by the Department of Education and Skills for O’Carolan College in Nobber, which currently caters for 610 pupils.
The new secondary school will be over 7,000 sq metres and will be built to the latest specifications for new schools.
The classrooms will be built to a bigger size and there will also be science labs, home economics rooms, art and graphics, wood and construction studies, metal work and engineering rooms.
The new school building will also have a canteen and dining area.
The school said it is delighted that the schedule of accommodation also includes a 600 sq metre gymnasium and a state-of-the-art autism unit.
