Kildalkey robbed in injurytime
There was no fairytale departure for Kildalkey manager Pat O'Halloran at Trim tody in the A HL Div 1 final where Kiltale stage a dramatic smash and grab raid that earned a sensational 4-8 to 1-16 victory for the recently-crowned Jubilee Cup champions.
Kildalkey looked like certs for the trophy as they enjoyed a 1-16 to 2-7 advantage with two minutes remaining and as the clock ticked into added time, Kildalkey were still infront by 1-16 to 3-7.
However, Kiltale's never-say-die attitude saw them grab an equalising goal in the third minute of added time James Kelly rifled to the net.
Then Jack Regan claimed possession and sent over a massive point to complete a great escape.
Kildalkey were shell-shocked, but they can have no complaints about the outcome as they faltered in the closing stages after leading by 0-11 to 1-2 at the interval; and by 1-11 to 1-3 five minutes into the second-half.
The victory completed a great championship and league double for Kiltale who will now target success in Leinster starting next weekend.
