New manager for meath ladies
Meath Ladies Football GAA Co Board last night appointed former top Mayo player Diane O'Hora to the position of manager of the senior and under-21 teams for the 2015 campaign.
The Mayo woman will bring a wealth of experience to the role and she has already managed both Longford and Down - the Down role was in a coaching capacity initially and then in a temporary position as manager
Diane has won All-Ireland SFC and National League Div 1 titles with Mayo and was also an Allstar on two occasions
On the club scene in Dublin she enjoyed success with Clanna Gael Fontenoy (Dublin Intermediate title), she also coached Trinity and has been involved with Dublin minor and u-16 teams.
(See brief video clip where she talks about the commitment of the players during her spell with Longford).
See next week's edition of Meath Chronicle for interview with Diane.
OTHER APPOINTMENTS
Other appointments last night included Eamon Murray from Boardsmill as the minor manager while the u-16 manager is Phil Fay of the Navan O'Mahonys club. Phil was a selector on the senior team this year.
Peter Byrne from Simonstown is staying with the u-14 girls who reached to Leinster final in 2013 only to lose out to Dublin while Ollie Bowe of Royal Gaels will also be returning to the u-12s.
