Ballinlough march on
Ballinlough travelled to the sunny south-east and returned on Sunday afternoon with their place in the Leinster Club IFC final secured following their 0-12 to 1-3 win over hosts St James of Wexford in Wexford Park.
Apart from a couple of barren spells during which Ballinlough never scored, and St James failed to capitalise, the Meath champions were always in control against a Wexford side that managed just 1-1 from play.
After a slow start Ballinlough hit the turbo button and fired five points in four minutes to open up a 0-5 to 0-0 lead. St James replied with a fortunate goal, but Ballinlough settled and led by 0-7 to 1-1 at the break.
The home side did narrow the deficit to two points after the resumption, but they couldn’t get any closer as Ballinlough finished strongly to set up a final against Louth side Sean O’Mahonys in two weeks time.
In the Leinster Club JHC Dunderry experienced a crushing 4-15 to 0-4 defeat by Bennettsbridge at Trim.
