Kiltale carry hopes of county as cats are ready to pounce
Kiltale hurlers will look to chalk up some provinical glory for Meath hurling when they take on Kilkenny side Mullinavat in the Leinster Club IHC final at Pairc Tailteann on Sunday, 2.0.
The game is sure to prove attractive for hurling followers in the county who will be hoping to see a shock result.
Mullinavat will go into the game as hot favourites but with 'home' advantage Kiltale can make life difficult for their opponents.
Among Mullinavat's playing personnel is John Walsh who produced an excellent display when Kilkenny defeated Limerick in the All-Ireland MHC final last September. The Kilkenny minor team was managed by another Mullinavat man, Pat Hoban.
Kiltale have already defeated Wexford side Shamrocks and Laois champions Ballinakill but this is clearly a jump up to another level.
Among the teams Mullinavat have defeated is Kildare outfit Coill Dubh managed by former Kiltale player and manager Paddy Kelly.
Meath hurling is badly in need of a good news story after last weekend when Dunderry shipped a heavy 0-4 to 4-25 defeat when they took on another Kilkenny side Bennettsbridge in the Leinster Club JHC at Trim.
St Patrick's also lost out by 0-11 to 4-10 to Longford side Wolfe Tones in the Leinster Club JHC Special semi-final.
