Two for tennessee at dundalk
Trim jockey Colin Keane was in the winners’ enclosure again at Dundalk on Friday night when he guided the Ger Lyons-trained Tennessee Wildcat to victory in a handicap to augment a win at the same venue at the beginning of January.
Well-backed favourite Bishan Bedi was all the rage and the race developed in a duel with Tennessee Wildcat from over a furlong out.
Despite shouldering top weight of 10-0, Keane got the best out of his mount and prevailed by a neck.
In the end Tennessee Wildcat, trained by Ger Lyons for Sean Jones, came out on top by a neck.
This was Keane’s third winner of 2015 as he embarks on another campaign after landing the 2014 apprentices’ title with 55 winners.
The talented young Meath jockey was a monthly winner in the 2014 Meath Sports Awards that were presented two weeks ago at Knightsbrook Hotel, Trim.
