Tough group for keegan cup holders

Defending SFC champions Navan O'Mahonys will open the defence of their title on the weekend of the 12^th April when they tackle Seneschalstown again in a repeat of last year's first round tie.

O'Mahonys will also face IFC champions Ballinlough, Donaghmore/Ashbourne, Skryne and St Patrick's in a tough group.

Defending SHC champions Kiltale also face a tough test with an opening round tussle against

Longwood while Kilmessan, Dunboyne, Boardsmill and Trim complete the group.

The football championships are provisionally scheduled for weekend 12^th April.

HURLING

Kilmessan have won the Jubilee Cup on 29 occassions and lead the way ahead of Trim who won their 26^th title in 2001.

“I'd prefer to see Trim in the other group,” commented sponsor CJ Murtagh of Ted Murtagh Clothing and Footwear.

“They (Trim) were probably a bit ahead of themselves getting to the final last year, but Trim playing Kilmessan will bring back a lot of memories, it's a tough group,” he added.
