Busy gaa weekend for meath ladies
Meath Ladies GAA teams will be busy this weekend with four games scheduled over Saturday and Sunday with the main focus on the NFL Div 2 encounter against Westmeath at Ashbourne on Sunday 1pm.
After their third round win against Down last Sunday, Meath seniors have their final home game of the League when they take on Westmeath.
Manager Diane O’Hora will be looking for the same display from the Meath girls next Sunday however Westmeath will offer a far stiffer challenge.
Westmeath were defeated by Cavan last Sunday and will be going into the Meath game eager to make amends.
SATURDAY
On Saturday the minors will be hoping to emulate their success of two weeks ago against Wicklow when they take on Louth in Trim at 1pm. The minors enjoyed a comfortable win in their opening round and will take on Louth in their only home game.
Meath face tough opposition in a double header in the opening round of the u-14 and u-16 Leinster Championships also on Saturday.
Both sides will face Dublin in Ballyboden St Enda’s at 1.30pm and 3pm respectively.
Manager Peter Byrne begins his second season in charge of the u-14s while Phil Faywill have the responsibility of the u-16s. Both squads have been working hard at training.
