Snow joke in roscommon either
Meath's crucial NFL Div 2 game today at Hyde Park, Roscommon was also a victim of the heavy snow that blanketed parts of thecountry from early this morning.
The snow that fell on the way to Roscommon had many Meath supporters worried even before they reached the venue with Mullingar and Longford particularly badly hit.
The referee made a decision around midday to postpone the game due to the fact that snow was lying on the pitch and the Meath players, who had travelled last night, didn't have a chance to even kick a ball.
The game will now be rescheduled - most likely for weekend 21st / 22nd March as Meath will be in action over the next two weekends but the 21st / 22nd is free of NFL fixtures.
The postponement may be good news for Meath u-21 manager Sean Barry who will be hoping to have both Harry Rooney and Adam Flanagan at midfield for Wednesday night's Leinster u-21 FC game in Navan against Westmeath. Other players that will be in the frame include Eamon and Joey Wallace among others.
