Garda appeal after fatal crash near kingscourt
A motorist in his 20s has been killed following a road accident in north Meath in the early hours of this morning.
The man, aged 25, died when the car he was driving struck a tree on the Kingscourt to Drumconrath road at about 12.30am. The accident happened just over two kilometres from Kingsourt in the townland of Dunheeda.
The victim was removed by ambulance to Our Lady's Hospital in Navan where he was pronounced dead.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between 12.15am and 1am to contact them at Navan Garda Station on (046) 903 6100 or the Garda Confidential Line 1800 666 111.
The road remains closed while forensic collision investigators examine the scene of the fatal crash. Local diversions are in place.
