Skryne produce storming secondhalf to secure victory
With the help of the strong, icy wind Skryne put in a storming second-half performance to defeat St Patrick's 1-14 to 3-3 in the SFC at Duleek this evening.
St Patrick's led 3-2 to 0-5 at the interval with Neil O'Flaherty, Niall Mooney and Shane Dowling hitting the target for them however, they were unable to make any headway in the second-half against the elements or a resolute Skryne defence.
Instead Skryne piled on the scores with Mark Battersby ending up with eight points, five from frees, while Paddy O'Rourke split the posts five times.
Skryne's cause also received a boost near the end when Brian Davis swept the ball to the net but by that stage Gordon Geraghty's side already looked home and hosed.
In the JFC encounter that took place after the senior game Dunsany defeated Skryne by 1-7 to 0-8.
