Cosmos suffer big blow to title aspirations
Navan Cosmos suffered a setback in their quest for the NEFL Premier title when they lost 1-2 to Duleek at the Tollstone today.
Both teams had a player sent off with Cosmos Alan Rogers and Duleek's Jamie Flaherty both seeing red.
Craig Brodigan put Duleek ahead before Cosmos equalised through Conor McManus however the home side went on to find a late winner from Barry Kavanagh.
This was a perfect opportunity for Cosmos to give their title hopes as big boost at Boyne Harps lost to Bellurgan earlier in the day.
Cosmos now face two tough away games to Woodview and Boyne Harps.
The victory helps to draw Duleek away from the third last place in the table. The team who finished third last will play the third team from Div 1 in a play-off.
