Summerhill open with a win other results
Summerhill made a winning start to the SFC for the first time in three years when they proved too strong for Rathkenny this afternoon in the second of two senior games at Pairc Tailteann.
Summerhill won by 3-12 to 0-10 and were ahead by 2-4 to 0-5 at the interval with the goals coming from barry Dardis (two) and Ross Ryan for a merited victory.
In the curtainraiser at Pairc Tailteann, Dunshaughlin defaeted Gaeil Colmcille by 0-15 to 1-7 despite trailing by 0-6 to 1-5 at the interval.
Gaeil Colmcille also finished with 14 men after they had a player sent-off for a second yellow card near the end.
The scheduled IFC game in Navan between St Ultan's and Castletown was postponed due to a bereavement.
In the IFC game played at Moylagh (moved from Dunsany) Ratoath won by 6-11 to 0-12 and were 3-5 to 0-6 ahead at the break.
Also in the IFC Syddan defaeted Longwood by 1-12 to 1-11, we believe three players were dismissed (two for Longwood) and that there may have been an incident with an official (not confirmed yet)
In the JFC Boardsmill defeated Moylagh by 1-8 to 0-5 and Kilmainhamwood and Wolfe Tones finished 2-9 each.
