Minor hurlers hammered in leinster championship
Meath slumped to a 42-point defeat against a ruthless Laois side at Trim on Saturday in the second round of the Leinster MHC writes Colm McLoughlin.
It was a dismal display from Meath who were totally outclassed by a Laois side who established a 2-15 to 0-2 interval advantage.
The goals for Laois came from Mark Kavanagh on the fourth and seventh minutes. Meath's only scores came from two pointed frees from wing forward Conor Kearney.
Meath made wholesale changes for the second-half, but to no avail.
Laois dominated throughout racking up a further five goals - Andrew Mortimer (two), Stephen Phelan, Eanna Lyons and Rory McEvoy.
Points from Meath forwards Jack Cox (two) and Ronan Byrne gave their team a final total of five points.
