Vintage day out in ballivor
The Norman Pratt Vintage Run will be hosted by Ballivor Community Council this Sunday, 3rd May.
The run was named after the founder of the Kells Celtic Old Vehicles Owners Club (COVOC), Ballivor man Norman Pratt, who passed away in 1991. The group has just entered its 23rd year and boasts over 150 members.
Owners and enthusiasts of classic, vintage and veteran vehicles, including cars, vans, tractors, motor bikes and even fire engines, enter the rally annually. Prizes will be awarded for each decade from the 1920s on while awards will also be presented for the best presented bike, most original Irish car, and best presented car.
Local charities such as Meath Hospice and The Heart & Stroke Foundation have benefited from the annual event in the past.
According to Yvonne Kavanagh, chairperson for Ballivor Community Council, the annual stopover in Ballivor has grown into the Ballivor Vintage Car Rally Festival.
“It’s a fantastic day filled with music and family entertainment throughout the village. This year, we are delighted to welcome our special guest, Trim-based singer and songwriter Kathy Crinion,” she said.
