Battling ballivor win in bohermeen showdown
In front from start to finish Ballivor picked up their second win in the IFC when they defeated Castletown 0-9 to 0-7 at Bohermeen this evening.
Ballivor were particularly impressive in the opening half when, assisted by the breeze, they took an stranglehold on the game.
With the help of points from Padraig Geoghegan (three), Stefan Kelly (two) and Paul Kelly they led 0-6 to 0-3 at the interval. Ray McKeown also hit a free from distance.
Castletown came back strongly in the second-half and while Damien Ginnity, Kevin Ross, Thomas Smith and Barry Smith fired over points they were unable to bridge the gap.
Ballivor defended tenaciously especially in the closing stages when Castletown came looking for scores.
However there was no denying Ballivor their victory which puts them right back in the frame for qualification to the knock-out phase.
