Easy for killyon against dunderry
Killyon produced a dominant performance against an understrength Dunderry side in the SHC tonight at Kildalkey where they had plenty to spare as they won by 22 points on 2-22 to 0-6 scoreline.
The victory is sufficient to move Killyon into second place in the group and with games to come against Blackhall Gaels and Navan O'Mahonys, they will be quietly confident that they can make it to the knock-out stages.
Apart froma five-minute spell midway through the first-half when Dunderry reeled off three points to trail by 0-3 to 0-6, there was never any real doubt about the outcome as Killyon established a 0-12 to 0-3 interval advantage.
Keith Keoghan took the scoring plaudits with 1-7 while substitute Stefan Kelly also found the net for a fluent-looking Killyon side who will be aware that they will face sterner tests.
Next up for Dunderry is a back match against Navan O'Mahonys next weekend - date and venue to be confirmed. After that there will be a break until August with the football championships set to resume before the next round of hurling.
