Jack be quick
Meath trainer Tony Martin might have missed out on the big race on Monday night at Galway, but he made no mistake today when he sent out the winner of the Galway Hurdle for the second successive year, this time when Quick Jack stormed to victory for jockey Denis O'Regan.
Martin's 2014 Galway Hurdle winner Thomas Edison with Barry Geraghty on board fell at the last when in with a good chance.
For Martin, it was superb training feat as he won the big race on opening night last year with Quick jack, owned by John Breslin from Kells who also had the third home in Ted Veale which was third in the big race on Monday night also.
'He had a great run the last day in Chester and we felt he was in as good a form today, as he has been at any time of the year, and the ground was probably in his favour today, it's the first time he got really nice ground,' commented the trainer.
Meath jockeys Robbie Power and Declan McDonogh were also in the winners' enclosure today.
