Keane and lyons get a galway winner
After saddling the third, fourth and fifth home in big race on Tuesday evening, there was better luck for Kiltale trainer Ger Lyons and Trim jockey Colin Keane at Galway yesterday when they teamed up to win with Sacrificial which carried top-weight to victory in a hot one-mile handicap.
Sacrificial finished third in the Britannia Stakes at Royal Ascot in June with top jockey Andrea Atzeni on board.
A statistic in the form of the horse is that the twice Atzeni rode, Sacrificial's best was third in that race - also managed a fifth place finish at the Curragh last year
Colin Keane has been on board for the other eight runs, always in the frame and has now won three times.
Sacrificial took the lead yesterday well over a furlong out and won by two and three-quarter lengths from the Denise Foster-trained Lily's Rainbow with Emperor Bob taking third.
