Meath exit allireland mhc b
Meath exited the All-Ireland MHC B title race today at the first obstacle when they faltered against Roscommon at Athleague where the lost by two points (3-9 to 4-8).
There were plenty of “What If” moments for the team and management to reflect on after a narrow and dramatic defeat to Roscommon, none more agonising than the decision to withdraw freetaker Conor Kearney in the 56th minute.
Kearney converted four frees for Meath up to that stage.
Meath enjoyed a 3-5 to 1-3 lead at the interval.
Roscommon led by a solitary point when the Kildalkey man was substituted and almost immediately, the Royal County were awarded a ’65 that was sent wide.
Then, after the home side doubled their lead and a solitary minute of injury time was announced Meath had to go for a goal from a 20-metre free that was cleared.
