Mcmanus injured as cosmos win opener
Navan Cosmos kicked-off their bid for the North East Football Premier League title at the MDL last night where they recorded an impressive 2-1 victory over defending champions Boyne Harps despite the loss of Conor McManus (pictured) to injury in the opening half.
Cosmos started brightly and went ahead through a great Christy Glynn strike, but the loss of centre-half McManus to an injury unsettled the home time briefly and Boyne levelled before the interval.
However, Cosmos regained their composure in the second-half and Conor Walsh scored the winner from a free. In a good team display Robbie Dillon, Christy Glynn and Walsh were to the fore for the Cosmos.
As part of their continued sponsorship of the NEFL, O Neills Sportswear are supplying Man of the Match sports bags and in this game last night Navan Cosmos player Alan Murphy took the honours.
