Meath well represented at the rose of tralee
Meath Rose Elysha Brennan and Darwin Rose Caitriona Brennan will both be flying the flag for Meath when they take to the stage at the ‘Dome’ in Tralee tonight.
For the first time, a Meath Rose has made it past the regional final to the International Rose of Tralee Festival. Elysha Brennan, a 22-year-old medical student from Bettystown will represent Meath and according to Boyle Sports has become one of the favourites after a surge in bets over the weekend which saw her odds cut to 10/3, challenging New York Rose Sophie Colgan who is favourite at 3/1.
Elysha is a daughter of Christine and Donal Brennan, and a past pupil of Gormanston College.
Darwin Rose Caitiona Brennan (27) from Ratoath will also be interviewed by host Daithi O’Sé tonight.
A daughter of John and Mary Brennan. Caitiona is a past pupil of Dunshaughlin Community College. She grew up playing gaelic football and camogie in Ratoath.
Caitriona has lived in Australia for the past three years and in Darwin for the last year and a half where she works as an operations manager over a Child Protection and Disability service.
Queensland Rose Niamh Healy (25) also has a Meath connection with her family living in Dunboyne. Niamh will be on stage at the Dome tomorrow night.
The Rose of Tralee airs on RTE 1 tonight at 8pm and continues tomorrow night when the 2015 Rose of Tralee will be announced.
