Cinemas to screen kilkennygalway clash on sunday

ODEON cinemas  will stage free screenings of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling final on Sunday 6th September where Galway will take on champions Kilkenny.

GAA fans across the country will enjoy a free family day out watching Ireland’s most successful hurling county, Kilkenny, play for their 36th All-Ireland Championship final title against Galway. Galway have not held the title since 1988. Regardless of county loyalties, families can enjoy the excitement of the day on the big cinema screens ODEON has to offer across ten locations nationwide. Families can enjoy the luxurious seats with plenty of legroom, easy parking and a wide range of tasty snacks, making this cinematic experience a great day out for all the family.

Lisa Clancy, Director of Communications at GAA said: 'Screening the GAA All-Ireland Hurling and Football Finals in ODEON Cinemas nationwide is a fantastic way to soak up the electric atmosphere for those who can’t make it to Croke Park on All-Ireland Final Day. We hope GAA fans and families will take advantage of this unique opportunity and come and enjoy the entertainment and skills of our great game of hurling on the big screen on one of the biggest days in the GAA calendar”.

Douglas Brennan of ODEON Cinemas Ireland said: 'This is our fourth year partnering with the GAA to show both the All-Ireland Hurling and Football finals. We are delighted to be able to screen and share these iconic Irish moments with families across the country and are thrilled to be offering a complimentary cinematic experience to our ODEON customers. We look forward to welcoming and seeing our screens full of colour with proud supporters of Galway and Kilkenny in their jerseys, but leave the hurleys and sliotars at home! We expect that GAA fans from all counties will take advantage of this free family day out across all of our cinemas.'
