Dunshaughlin looking forward to fifth harvest festival

Returning for the fifth year at the end of this month, Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival is an award-winning, fun-filled festival with music, drama, dance, heritage events, food and craft markets, country sports and plenty of good old-fashioned games for the children.
The 2015 festival promises to be the biggest yet and runs from Friday 25th September until Sunday 27th September with activities catering for all the family from young children to teenagers to adults.
New this year is a spectacular Fire and Light show by the renowned artistes, PassePartout; a raft race down the main street; Dunshaughlin Young Scientist of the Year competition, train rides in the park; an interactive ‘Alice in Wonderland’ themed yarn bombing event; a grand drumming session and games activities on Segways.
This adds to the exciting firm favourites such as the Soap Box Derby, céili at the crossroads, the vintage car and tractor displays, the Fire Station open day, the children’s dog show and the farrier display. There’ll be music in the pubs, on the streets and at the opening concert on Friday 25th.

The International Rose of Tralee 2015, Elysha Brennan, will be attending the Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival Queen Contest. The contest takes place at the Black Bush Golf Club, Dunshaughlin, on Saturday 19th September from 7pm - 9pm. A panel of judges and audience voting on the night will choose the new Dunshaughlin Harvest Festival Queen who will be an ambassador for Dunshaughlin before, during and after the festival.

Bookings for the artisan market area are now open - see www.Dunfest.com to register and for further information about the festival.
