Thurles double for andrew lynch
Ashbourne jockey Andrew Lynch moved on to the 30-winner mark for the season witha double at Thurles today in a beginners chase with a 20/1 outsider and a three-year-old hurdle.
Tintown Rambler caused a 20/1 shock when winning the beginners chase by staying on well after the last fence to get the better of the Gordon Elliott-trained favourite Georges Conn which was well adrift in third place.
Tintown Rambler and runner-up Diamondgeezer Luke (not fluent at the last) battled it out from the second last.
Lynch completed his double in the next race with the fancied French import Le Vagabond which too took the Devils Bit 3YO Maiden Hurdle in fine style for trainer Edward O'Grady.
Last time out the winner fell at the last on his hurdling debut at Ballinrobe.
Gordon Elliot took the opening race with Miss Dinamic which made it five wins in the space of four months when landing the Holycross Mares Chase at Thurles for jockey Ruby Walsh.
