Planning approval granted for new Aldi store in Trim
Aldi Stores (Ireland) Ltd have been granted planning permission by Meath County Council for its planned new store in Trim.
Council planners have given the green light - with 21 conditions - for the development which will consist of the construction of a single storey discount foodstore, including an off-licence section, with a gross floor area of 1,757sq metres on a 0.79 hectare site in the centre of Trim.
Permision includes the erection of signage and the store will be served by 106 car parking spaces. Vehicular access to the site will be provided from Jonathan Swift Street, with pedestrian access from Watergate Street and Jonathan Swift Street.
The planning application follows the signing of contracts between Aldi and Meath County Council in February of this year for the purchase of the old swimming pool site at Watergate Street.
In September 2014, the council formally approved the sale of its 1.9 acre site to Aldi for the sum of €585,000, subject to planning permission.
