Stalemate at the MDL

It was a point apiece for Trim Celtic and Boyne Harps from today’s NEFL Premier Division clash at the MDL as neither side managed to break the deadlock in an entertaining contest.
The only real chance of note in the first period fell to Boyne’s Robert Cashman when his long range effort struck the post. After the break neither side managed to test the opposition goalkeeper with Trim Celtic’s Aaron Ryan and Paul Campbell firing chances wide and over the bar.
Top scorer Brian Faulkner failed to make an impact with Boyne’s Anto McGuinness and Paddy O’Boyle doing a very sound job.
Chances were few and far between and the point apiece ensures both sides are tied on 13 points, but Trim have five games less played than their Drogheda opponents.
