Cromwell has the right Policy
Local trainer Gavin Cromwell had the distinction of sending out the last winner of 2015 at Dundalk on Friday night when Political Policy won for the fifth time this year for the Meath handler.
The next action at Dundalk will take place at the first meeting of 2016 on Friday 8th January.
For Cromwell, in demeand as a farrier also, the win with Political Policy marked a good month after a fine win at Aintree at the beginning of the month.
Last night Political Policy finished well for jockey Sean Corby on a horse that was rated at 58 when winning at the track for Cromwell last September and is now rated 84.
Political Policy also won twice at Dundalk when trained by Michael Halford.
Trim jockey Colin Keane was denied outright success in the 'champion jockey at Dundalk' stakes when a double for Fran Berry meant the title was shared on 21 winners each.
