Lucy to lead Operation Transformation walk
Lucy Dillon, from Fordstown, Kells, is a leader with RTE's Operation Transformation programme.
Meath Local Sports Partnership and the ISC have linked up with OT team to promote the national walk day on Saturday 9th January.
Lucy, alongside family and friends will lead the walk from Kells. She is originally from Fordstown, went to school in Eureka Kells, worked in the Arches bar, kicked football with the women in Gaeil Colmcille, Kells and Meath GAA; and basketball with Athboy Cobras and the North East Basketball team.
She is currently working as reservation/sales executive in Knightsbrook hotel, in Trim.
Herself, her dad Pat and two brothers Ben and Joe operate the hugely successful Grove Gardens, better known for its Haunted Spooktacular adults event at Halloween. Lucy is living with her partner Conor and their daughter Molly Therese in Clonmellon.
Lucy would love to see everyone from Kells, Athboy, Clonmellon, Trim and surrounding areas come out and support her on the walk on the 9th January. Those interested in walking with Lucy and members from the OT crew, should meet on the Fairgreen car park at 9.45am.
Organisers welcome all ages and abilities along on the day and particularly would like to see families getting involved. The event is ideal for beginners to come out and give it a go. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
In the interest of safety and out of respect to other walkers, dogs are not permitted.
There are 2 other walks (at 10am) in Meath on the day – if Kells doesn't suit you – try:
Walk 2: Trim Castle distance 3.7km (along the Sli na Slainte route), meet in front of the castle.
Walk 3: Navan Blackwater Park 5km, meet at car park in Blackwater park.
Why not kick start your transformation with a walk in your locality and remember no matter what age you are it is never too late to start exercising.
