No Slane concert this year

Lord Henry Mountcharles confirmed this week that there will be no concert at Slane this year. The Slane Castle owner said that there were practical difficulties in hosting a concert this year, as major construction works are taking place on the distillery in the gorunds of the castle.
“There also wasn’t an act this year that really grabbed my attention.”
“When work on the distillery is complete next year, it will make it much simpler,” he said. “So we have decided to focus on 2017.”
Lord Mountcharles said that there was something in the pipeline for next year, but it was too early to say for certain.
He said the castle was very busy at the moment as construction work on the distillery is in full swing.
