Tracy McElhinney (Labour Party)

Ballivor native Tracy McElhinney was elected to Meath County Council for the first time in 2009 and served until 2014.
She works in Columba College, Killucan, Co Westmeath, and in Harry’s Hotel, Kinnegad. She serves on the committees of voluntary organisations throughout her home village of Ballivor and is married to George McElhinney from Athboy, with two sons. She has lived in Ballivor for the last 44 years.
Ms McElhinney is a member of the Trim branch of the Labour Party and is daughter of Pat and Della Loughlin from Ballivor. She has one sister, Renell, who lives in the community and is married to Christy Comey and has two children.
A granddaughter of the late Frank (Dully) Coughlan who was a Labour Party activist, she is also a former employee of NEC Semiconductors Ireland in Ballivor, having worked for the company for over 12 years where she was also a shop steward.
Following her redundancy in 2006, she set up the employment lobby group, Next Era Calling, with former employees and some community members, and remains the current chairperson of this organisation.
