Winter Escape for Geraghty at Kempton
Meath jockey Barry Geraghty added another winner to his tally in the UK today when he was on the mark at Kempton Park for his boss JP McManus with the Alan King-trained Winter Escape which won with plenty in hand.
The win was some compensation for the Drumree man as had taken a crashing fall in the previous race when going well on board the Johnjo O'Neill-trained The Saint James.
Geraghty was making his move approaching the third last when he took that fall, but he bounced back 30 minutes later with a fine display to land a valuable grade two novices hurdle.
The Meath man will be in action with five mounts at Leopardstown tomorrow starting with the fancied Space Cadet (second in five of his last six outings) for Dunsany owner Christopher Jones and trainer Gordon Elliott in the openeinf maiden hurdle at the Foxrock track.
