Defeats for minor hurling and camogie teams

This was a game Meath simply had to win to sustain their hopes of progressing in the Leinster MHL at Dunganny on Saturday, but they were edged out by neighbours Westmeath won won by 3-13 to 3-7.

Wind-assisted Meath trailed by 1-4 to 1-6 at the interval and despite a battling second-half performance they lost out.

Meath will face Wicklow in the Leinster MHC next month.

In the All-Ireland Minor B Camogie championship today the Meath team was edged out by Laois by five points. Laois won by 2-9 to 0-10.
