Nigel through to 'Voice' final

Athboy's Nigel Connell, along with Kelesa Mulcahy, Michael Lawson and Laura O’Connor, is through the final of The Voice of Ireland next Sunday 24th April.

Limerick doctor Emmett Daly opened up for Team Una with 'Hymn for the Weekend' by Coldplay.

However, it was his Team Una colleague, drummer and singer, Connell gave the audience a taste of his talent singing 'In the Air Tonight' by Phil Collins. He sang and played drums a la Phil and wowed with his performance. Kian was particularly blown away and brought Nigel to tears with his comments.

Meath's other semi-finalist, Navan's Matheus Soares, lost out on a place in the final, even though his performance of Nick Jonas' 'Jealous' for Team Rachel was powerful.

Next week the final four contestants will take to the stage hoping to win a recording contract with Universal Ireland.
