Four changes for Ring Cup clash with Wicklow
Meath manager Martin Ennis has made four changes to the side that lost to Down in the final round of NHL Div 2B for Saturday’s Christy Ring Cup opener against Wicklow at Trim, 3.30pm.
Dual star Mickey Burke is not included and will be replaced at midfield by Blackhall Gaels’ Stephen Morris, while there is also no place for imported full-back Ronan Sherlock. David Donoghue reverts back to the number three shirt, while Blackhall’s Shane Whitty comes into the team at corner-back.
Navan O’Mahonys Cormac Reilly will start in the other corner-back role instead of Sean Geraghty, while the final change sees Ratoath’s Gavin McGowan come in for Kilmessan’s Kevin Keena. The team will be captained by Trim’s James Toher.
Sherlock will miss Saturday's game because of his involvment in the tipperary SHC, while Ennis also has to plan with Steven Clynch who got married on Friday and Jack Regan who is injured.
